Aquaclear Window Cleaning offers our customers scheduled cleaning. Why do our customers like this? Homeowners have enough maintenance to worry about and this is just one less job that needs to be cared for. Instead of the hassle of calling and hoping to get a date when you need it, you can simply have us set you up with a scheduled cleaning and now it's out off your to-do list. Now the question is, what is a recommended time frame to have them cleaned regularly? Much will depend on several factors, such as, do you have trees close to your home, do you have indoor pets or small children, do you have oceanfront property, etc.?
Our most common scheduled cleanings are having your exterior windows cleaned on a quarterly basis and your interior cleaned yearly. However, as just mentioned, depending on your circumstances, you may need them cleaned more often. We have some customers who have oceanfront property and get their exterior windows cleaned on a monthly basis. It really all comes down to how clean you want your windows to be all the time. Whatever your needs, we can meet them! Give us a call today and let's get those windows sparkling!

Whether we want to accept it or not, Winter is on it's way and temperatures will continue to drop and the hours of sunlight each day will get shorter. As much as you are giving attention to your gardens and flower beds, it's time to consider your windows as well.
Toward the end of Fall is a good time to remove your screens to clean the exterior of your windows and sills before winter hits. Most screens are located on the exterior of the window. One exception is casement, or crank out, windows, where the screens are found on the interior. For exterior screens especially, it's a good idea to have them cleaned when having your windows cleaned, have them inspected for any holes, tears, or other damage, and repair as needed. Then you will want to store them in a safe place such as a garage or basement. It’s also a good idea to label each screen with pencil or chalk to be replaced back in the proper window in the Spring. So why is it important to store your screens during the winter months? While Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania aren’t prone to major snowstorms every winter, we still get our share of snow, especially up in the Deep Creek Lake area. During a storm, wind can blow snow that can get trapped between the screen and the window. That trapped snow can cause damage to your window frames and sills, as well as possibly damaging the screen from the weight of the snow. Another reason to remove window screens is aesthetics. Windows generally look more pleasing from the curb when the screens are removed and the glass shine and will make your entire home have that 'pop'! But one of the most important reasons to remove window screens in the winter is improved solar heat gain. Solar heat gain is the amount of solar energy that penetrates a window. For windows that face the sun, solar heat gain helps to heat up a room simply from the energy from the sun. If a window screen is left on a window, it reduces the amount of solar energy that reaches the glass. So whether you remove your window screens for aesthetics or to prevent snow build-up, the benefits of solar heat gain should make the decision easy. Increased warmth in rooms receiving direct sun will help save money on heating bills and reduce the workload of your heating system. Have a great winter everyone and I look forward to seeing you in the Spring! My wife and I cleaned the windows of two homes on the lake today.
